On the heels of the unexpected VOD release last month, Barbie is now getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release sooner than expected.
The smash hit of the year starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has made close to $1.428 billion USD at the box office so far and is sure to rack up more in home release sales.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie is a mix of The LEGO Movie and Toy Story. It’s got an excellent script, great visuals, and is overall a fun movie with an underlying message.
Barbie 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray features
From looking at the Amazon listing, it appears that the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Barbie in Canada does not include a regular Blu-ray disc or a digital copy of the film.
There are six making-of featurettes included:
- Welcome to Barbie Land
- Becoming Barbie
- Playing Dress-Up
- Musical Make-Believe
- All-Star Barbie Party
- It’s A Weird World
If you’re still waiting to have a “Barbenheimer” double feature at home, it looks like you’re going to have to keep waiting as Oppenheimer won’t be coming to VOD until at least November and there’s no word on a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release for it yet.
Barbie will be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on October 17. You can pre-order it now on Amazon for $32.99.
