Margot Robbie was snubbed for an Oscar nomination for Barbie.

The nominations for the 2024 Oscars were released Tuesday morning and to the surprise of many, both Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig were snubbed for Barbie in the Best Actress and Best Director categories, respectively.

Barbie did end up with a total of eight noms, including a surprise Best Supporting Actress nomination for America Ferrera. It also got a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination, which has caused some controversy in recent weeks given it’s not based on any prior material.
