Celebrate Valentine's Day with these treat recipes from Hamilton Beach

In case you’ve never noticed, Hamilton Beach have a whole line of romantic red kitchen appliances that are kinda perfect to celebrate Valentine’s Day with (it’s on a Wednesday this year).

From blenders and toaster ovens to pizza makers and kettles, the line of red products from the company is a bit overwhelming to say the least. Like all their products though, these are highly functional, easy-to-use and well built. 

To highlight their romantic red kitchen appliances, Hamilton Beach have a selection of Valentine’s Day recipes for some tasty sweet treats. 

Make these for the one you love this Valentine’s Day and you’ll be the sweetheart of the year.

Valentine’s Day Oreo Pops

  • 4 packages (12 ounces each) red, pink or white candy coating
  • 1 package (15.35 ounces) red crème filled chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 30 white lollipop sticks
  • Coloured sprinkles and candy decorations
  • Craft foam, if desired


  1. Add candy coating to a 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce to KEEP WARM for up to 1 hour 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Meanwhile, line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper or waxed paper. Insert lollipop sticks about 1 inch into crème filling of each cookie. Place on prepared sheets.
  3. Holding stick, carefully dip cookie into melted candy, making sure cookie is completely coated. Gently remove any excess coating and place on parchment paper.
  4. Add candy decorations or sprinkles. Let dry on paper or stick into craft foam.

Serves: 30

Hamilton Beach Kitchen Tip:

  • Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil at a time to candy coating if it starts to thicken.
  • Melt a small amount of different colour candy coating to drizzle over lollipops. 

Nutella Raspberry Valentine’s Day Pizza

  • Homemade Pizza Dough
  • Nutella hazelnut spread
  • fresh berries
  • decorative sugar or sprinkles


  1. Preheat oven to 475°F. Place Homemade Pizza Dough on floured counter and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Shape into 16-inch round pizza pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until crust is lightly browned. It may puff up while baking. If desired, line dough with nonstick foil and weigh down with pie weights.
  3. Top pizza crust with desired amount of Nutella hazelnut spread. Top with fresh berries and decorate as desired.

Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles or coloured sugar, optional


  1. Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. With a stand mixer on HIGH, beat butter and sugar for 1 minute or until creamy. Reduce speed and beat in egg and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients until combined.
  4. On a floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut with a 3-inch cookie cutter. Transfer to the parchment paper. Decorate with sprinkles or coloured sugar, if desired.
  5. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly browned on edges.
  6. Place the cookie sheet on a wire rack and cool for 5 minutes. Remove from parchment paper and cool completely on wire rack.

Serves: 36 

Hamilton Beach Test Kitchen Tip: 

  • Use a small cookie cutter to cut out the centre of each cookie. Remove centre and fill centre with coloured sugar. Bake centres with the larger cookies according to the recipe.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 medium bananas, cut in pieces
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulls removed
  • 1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup crescent-shaped ice cubes (10 to 12 ice cubes)


  1. Place orange juice, bananas, strawberries and yogurt in blender jar.
  2. Add ice cubes to mixture in blender.
  3. Press PULSE 4 or 5 times to chop ice. Then, blend on HIGH until mixture is thoroughly blended.

Serves: 2-3

Hamilton Beach Test Kitchen Tip: 

  • For a Personal Blender, use 1/4 cup orange juice, 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and cut in half, 1/2 banana, 1/4 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt and 4 ice cubes.
